Second line of the song; sharing one's pillow, simply means marriage. Interesting fact: the song is somewhat sung in Huế which is a Vietnamese dialect in the middle of Vietnam. It is more noticeable during 'the talk' the man gives halfway into the song. The song also mentions the word 'husband' every now and then and sometimes it's a bit confusing for people who aren't familiar with these kinds of songs. 'Em Ve Voi Nguoi' is actually a pretty old song and a lot of artists nowadays sing songs from composers that were known back in the days (pre 75 and after). Not every artist sings well-known songs from the past, but because Duong Ngoc Thai&Luong Gia Huy are from a music genre that can be labeled as 'Folk' they do sing songs that aren't freshly composed. I'm not sure to what extend myself, but at least it is for this song. In the Vietnamese culture back in the days and still somewhat nowadays (even though the number has decreased) there's such thing as an arranged marriage. This song describes a situation that you'll find in at least 80% of the older songs which tells the story of a man who has lost his love to another man who's more wealthy and accepted by her parents. Or vice versa from the woman's perspective - losing a love because she is obligated to do what her parents tell her, simply because she's doing her job as their child and wants them to be happy. The word 'husband' therefor comes in quite often in these types of songs so no need to freak out saying: 'What...
